Karen Sitler, Broker, CDPE, CRS, e-PRO, GRI, SFR As a little girl, I grew up playing realtor. Undoubtedly this was because my grandparents had a real estate/insurance office in their home, where I frequently visited. As an adult, my career path diverted in many directions. I worked as a bookkeeper for an insurance office. Then, when our children were small, I worked out of our home selling Shaklee products. I also worked as a cable TV salesperson and bookkeeper for a real estate broker. At this point, my interest in real estate as a career surfaced, and after taking the required classes I began my real estate career in the IL Quad Cities. When my husband took a new job requiring relocation to central Illinois, I was pleased, for I had grown up in this area. A serious car accident shortly after we moved slowed me down awhile, but by 1991 I was working full time within the Greater Peoria Area. During the next several years I earned my Graduate Realtors Institute designation (GRI), Broker designation, and Certified Residential Specialist designation (CRS). In September of 2001 I transferred my license to RE/MAX Unlimited. After completing an on-line course in 2005 I received the e-PRO designation. As the market demand for agents with training to help distressed property sellers and buyers of distressed properties grew I got both the Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE) and Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource (SFR) designations in 2009. Over the years I have served on the Community Service, Education, MLS and Contracts committees at my local Realtor Association. My prime real estate focus, however, is to my clients-both buyers and sellers. I display a checkmark in my service slogan because it represents my commitment to detail. More than just a stroke of the pen, it is a symbol of careful completion. Buying or selling. . . ![]() |
